Fiasconaro Panettone Colomba with Candied Orange

Colomba are a seasonal Italian treat and the panettone-alternative for Easter. Colomba di Pasqua is a traditional Italian Easter cake, made in the same way as panettone with eggs and butter. Each yeasted cake takes 72 hours to make, producing a light, airy texture and rich flavour. The key difference between panettone and colomba is the shape – colomba cake is baked in the shape of a cross, or dove.

This colomba is studded with candied orange peel and topped with crunchy sugar and almonds.
